A BIT ABOUT US

Here at Slater Road Baptist Church, we consider ourselves to be a family.  We are hungry for the Word of God, not for knowledge sake because knowledge puffeth up (1 Corinthians 8:1) but to obey the commands of our Lord. Our church services use hymnals, special singing and powerful preaching from the King James Bible.

Our church began in October 14, 1968 as Faith Baptist Church with Dale Vessell as their senior pastor until he went home to be with the Lord in 2004.  Gary Furnish became pastor from Aug 7, 2004 through November 1, 2009 when Mark Leland became the pastor. The church name was changed to Slater Road Baptist Church in 2012. On August 9, 2020 the church called their current pastor John Edwards to take the helm.
